Client Review

Do you accept Legal Aid certificates?

Yes, Legal Aid certificates may be accepted for eligible criminal law matters.

Legal Aid Ontario decides whether you qualify based on factors such as your financial situation, the seriousness of the charge, and the possible consequences of conviction. If you qualify, LAO may issue a certificate that can be used with a lawyer who accepts Legal Aid work.

If you already have a certificate, bring it to your consultation. If you have not applied yet, we can explain the general process and what information you may need before contacting Legal Aid Ontario.

All consultations are handled directly by Ontario licensed lawyer.

How the process works

1. Book your free 30-minute consultation
Tell us what happened, what charge you are facing, and your next court date.

2. Bring your key documents
This may include your release papers, undertaking, appearance notice, disclosure, Legal Aid certificate, or court documents.

3. We review your next steps
You will receive practical guidance on what needs to happen next, including Legal Aid, court dates, disclosure, and possible defence strategy.

4. You receive clear fee or Legal Aid information
If your matter can proceed, we will confirm the next steps before any work begins.
